LESSONS FROM JEPHTHAH II – Hezekiah Oluwaseun Ayodeji

Part II

In the first part of this piece, I discussed Jephthah’s IDENTITY but in this, I will discuss his INTEGRITY.

Years after JEPHTHAH left his father’s house, problems arose for his brothers and they had to invite him to come and lead them to solutions and victory. Do you know why?

They had seen what a great man he had become.

“If people give up on you, do not give up on yourself”,

that’s the key to success. Because

those who have once rejected you will end up requesting to have you around if only you were not discouraged by their reproach.

JEPHTHAH was a man who knew his potentials, he knew what he had. You must do the same. Do not sit back and watch people exploit you, do it yourself, search through your whole self and you will discover that special trait you possess.

When he was called upon by his so called brothers, JEPHTHAH didn’t refuse them using how they treated him as an excuse, he forgave and embraced them and agreed to help.

You must be forgiving and you must accept the fact that the persecution and reproach you suffered has been the catalyst to your greatness.

He was in total control of his life.

People should not always dictate to you, always think deeply and make right decisions. Try different solutions to whatever problem you have and do not rely on people all the time for one. You know why? They will end up exploiting you.

He loved responsibilities.

Many nowadays love privileges but do now want responsibilities. You should be different, privileges and opportunities will present themselves if only you take up some responsibilities.

If you shy away from responsibilities, you will end up loosing the privileges.

He was a man of prayer. It is good when you have plans ahead but it is the best when you put them in prayer as well.

Take note of the following;

  • Never let your background put your back on the ground.
  • Explore and don’t be exploited.
  • Be forgiving.
  • Be matured and take decisions for yourself.
  • Take up challenges and responsibilities, treat them with care and put in your best.
  • Be prayerful, put everything in prayer.
